I feel as though I am struggling against my own 2nd-wave feminist upbringing as well as the very traditional culture of the Navy. Neither of these communities are unloving, they just don't get it.

OK, this is a really interesting reading list to me, and I'm so glad you posted it. Because it's not the same feminism our mothers had.
Stuff to look into... when there's a break in my reading list. *sigh*
